Family Bike Ride - 25th October 1014

26th October 2014
Thank you to everyone who took part in our sponsored bike ride yesterday. It was a fabulous day and the weather was kind. 22 riders completed 17.5 miles with the age range from 3 years to 50 plus! Some had not cycled for a long time and will be saddle sore today but all felt the cause was worthy and what a wonderful way to honour and remember Gary - he would have loved the ride and would have been so proud of our achievement. He was uppermost in all our thoughts throughout the day. A big thank you to all those who were unable to cycle but supported us through generous donations helping us exceed our target - contributions are still being made and will be paid in the next few days and a very special thank you to the many children that have donated their pocket money - it is heart warming to know how much people care. Preparations are going well. T Shirts are printed so Gary will definitely be on a bike with us! Bikes are being checked and serviced or in some cases borrowed or brought out of dusty garages and having the cobwebs cleaned off. Some who have not ridden a bike for years have been out practising and some in the same boat haven't! Looking forward to what happens on the day. The number of people participating seems to have escalated which is great and I'm sure it will be a very special day whatever the weather has in store. Online donations are being made and sponsor forms filling up with donations from lovely, caring people that empathise with our loss and are kind enough to want to prevent this happening to others. Many thanks to everyone involved so far. Gayle
